ZATCA phase 2 e-invoicing requirements for hotels

Phase 2 (the integration phase) requires the hotel’s system to issue each invoice in the approved electronic format, signed, chained to the previous invoice and carrying a QR code, and to send it to ZATCA’s Fatoora platform. ZATCA notifies each business of its integration date. Details on ZATCA phase 2 for hotels.

What the hotel’s system must do

  1. Issue the invoice in ZATCA’s approved electronic format.
  2. Stamp it cryptographically and chain each invoice to the one before.
  3. Print a QR code on the invoice.
  4. Send business invoices for clearance, and report consumer invoices.
  5. Issue credit and debit notes the same way.

What the hotel provides to go live

  • Its commercial registration and VAT number.
  • The one-time activation code issued by Fatoora.
  • An invoicing device for each point of issue, because ZATCA licenses the device, not the hotel.

Before your integration date

Make sure your system has passed the onboarding path in ZATCA’s sandbox, and know what going live needs on your property. Dates and conditions should be checked on ZATCA’s official site.
