Saudi compliance

Saudi hotel compliance: what the system does, and what the hotel provides

iHotel connects a Saudi hotel to the platforms it must report to: ZATCA e-invoicing, Shomoos for guest data, the Ministry of Tourism’s monitoring platform (NTMP), and National Address. Each runs automatically once the hotel enters its own credentials. The VAT return, payroll obligations and the municipal report are prepared by the system with nothing extra to supply.

Each obligation, and what it needs from you

Some of this runs on its own. Some of it needs a credential only the hotel holds. This table says which is which.

ObligationWhat the system doesWhat the hotel provides
E-invoicing (ZATCA)Signed invoices, credit and debit notes, and the QR code on the receipt. Passes the full onboarding path in ZATCA’s sandbox.Commercial registration, VAT number, and a one-time activation code from Fatoora.
ShomoosReports each guest’s arrival and departure automatically. The hotel’s Shomoos credentials.
Tourism monitoring (NTMP)Reports bookings, arrivals, departures and cancellations automatically. The hotel’s NTMP credentials.
National AddressFills the buyer address on invoices and the booking form from the short code. The hotel’s own service key.
VAT returnPrepares the return; finalising it locks the period.Nothing extra.
PayrollSocial insurance (GOSI) contributions, the wage-protection (WPS) bank file, and end-of-service settlements.Nothing extra.
Municipal (Baladi) reportA ready report among the system’s reports.Nothing extra.

ZATCA phase 2 e-invoicing

The system issues the tax invoice in the required format, signed and chained to the invoice before it, and sends it to ZATCA without making reception wait. It passes the full onboarding path in ZATCA’s sandbox; going live needs the hotel’s own details. More on ZATCA phase 2 for hotels.

Shomoos

The system reports each guest’s arrival and departure to Shomoos at check-in and check-out. It checks the required fields before check-in completes, so a check-in missing what Shomoos needs cannot finish. More on Shomoos integration.

Tourism monitoring (NTMP)

The system reports bookings, arrivals, departures and cancellations to the Ministry of Tourism’s platform. The visit-purpose and cancellation-reason lists on the booking screens are the platform’s own lists. More on the tourism monitoring platform.

National Address

Staff enter the address short code and the system fills the full address on the invoice and the booking form. If the lookup fails for any reason, the booking does not stop.

VAT, payroll and the municipal report

The VAT return is filed as a filing, and finalising it locks the period; a late entry becomes a correction on the next return. GOSI contributions, the WPS bank file and end-of-service settlements are calculated by the system. The municipal report is a ready report.

Questions

Common questions on this topic

Is iHotel ZATCA certified?

iHotel passes the full ZATCA phase 2 onboarding path in ZATCA’s sandbox. Going live happens on your own property and needs your commercial registration, VAT number and a one-time activation code from Fatoora.

What do I need to switch on Shomoos and NTMP reporting?

Your hotel’s credentials for each platform. You enter them on the settings screen, and reporting starts without a software update.

Does reception stop if a government platform is slow to respond?

No. Reporting runs in the background and retries when needed, so reception never waits on a platform to finish a check-in or check-out.

What happens to reporting if the internet goes down?

The hotel keeps working on its own network, and the reports queue up and go out once the line is back.
