How to switch hotel management systems without stopping operations
A safe switch takes four steps: bring across rooms, room types, rates and opening balances; set up and test the new system before switch day; match the balances with a report before going live; then switch on an agreed day. This applies whether you are moving from Nazeel, Opera or anything else.

The steps
- Collect from your current system: rooms and room types, rates, and opening balances.
- Set up the new system with them, and test the room devices in a real room before a guest sleeps in it.
- Review the report matching the opening balances against what was brought across.
- Choose switch day, preferably a quiet day outside the seasons.
- After the switch, turn on government integration with your hotel’s credentials.
What must not change
The balances. Any difference in an opening balance shows up later in every report. So do not start working on the new system before you have reviewed the match report. Criteria for choosing the new system are in the buyer’s guide.
